Default I Love My Septum Sawback

Probably the best Range Rover.....................In The World.

Bought a Sawback last week as my new build for the upcoming 2014 UK scale nats. Wasn't my first choice but my local hobby store had one in so thought I'd give it a try.

So got the chassis finished and working

Then altered the following.

1, Raised the steering linkage.
2, Fitted Junfac drive shafts.
3, Fitted Aluminium Hub Carriers.
4, Fitted RC4WD 1.7 wheels and IroK tyres.
5, put the large helper under the main leaf.

The damaged donor shell from Dready arrived

Next up began the repairs and respray back to the bolivia red.

Lots still to do to marry up the interior to the chassis, fit the basic winch set up and fit lights.

Bit more done. Got the ride height right, cut out the new lexan windscreen, still cut the rest out and still to glue in

Got the door trim and door handles detailed.

Then just for the sake of it I offered up my Yeti cage and boy does it look good on there. Its designed to fit directly on the SCX10 so it would be a very easy conversion to pop it on the Sawback

After seeing that the trailing at the nats is going to be a 100 gate G6 dash, I decided that I couldn't do that to the Range Rover ::doh::

So hunted for something more suitable and a little different and remembered these. A pretty good likeness to the G-wagon is the Killerbodys Horri-bull.

Its got a very large wheelbase so had to work hard to extend the sawback to match. Was going to do it with links but really wanted to stay on leafs, which I've now managed to do, just needs finishing.

I've fitted heaps of lighting to it for the night run. Next up will be ride height and fixing it to the chassis.

Home late from work tonight but set about the chassis on a complete mission tonight for some reason.

Anyway leafs are all set in there new further back position, tweaked for ride height. Moved the battery forward where the ESC was, and vice versa with the ESC, SCX10 sliders mounted. Got the body posts fitted and the shell holes done so the body is now quick to get off and actually mounted. Excuse the wiring mess, thats on the to do list.

Next up was the shell and some goodies from Martin, wheel mount, spare wheel and recovery boards. I'll get an all lights on shot soon as they're nice and bright with the light bar on top (which is a 1:1 DRL).

dude im sad to not see the range rover, but that ride height to wheel size to body size is perfect. most folks have the body sitting ot high or the tires are way to big or stick out to far. This thing is absolutely perfect.
