Sawback vs. Sawback Sports As a noob to crawling the Sawback attracts my attention from the scale perspective. Can someone tell me the real differences between the two models? As far as I can tell the original seems to be the exact same thing except for a rollcage, new tires, and new wheels. The original is $40 cheaper and seems more true to scale based on what I know about the Willy's Jeep. If anyone knows a reason the Sports model is better (eg. upgraded components) can you point those attributes out? Right now the $40 seems like it would be better spent elsewhere. |
Re: Sawback vs. Sawback Sports With the sport you get the roll bar, light bar, plastic accessories and the light bucket kit. I personally would go with the original Sawback, get the ScalerFab roll bar and buy the light bucket kit. |
Re: Sawback vs. Sawback Sports Thanks for the input. I didn't think any differences were substantial. |
Re: Sawback vs. Sawback Sports The wheels and tires are also different. |
Re: Sawback vs. Sawback Sports I have both the original Sawback and the Sawback Sports. Other than cosmetic differences, they are exactly the same. The wheels are different, but still plastic. The tires have a different tread pattern but don't really seem better to me. The light buckets on the roll bar would leave exposed wires, so I just left it off. If anything, I'd say the new roll cage is odd... I mean, who wants a roll bar across open door frames anyway? Makes it difficult to get in an out. |
Re: Sawback vs. Sawback Sports Buy the original sawback kit, and build your own cage to your liking! Best of both worlds. You can even incorporate some light mounts. |
Re: Sawback vs. Sawback Sports Thanks guys. If I end up with a Sawback it will be an original. I really like the scale looks of this rig but new to this and choosing a direction. I appreciate the feedback. |
