I did, but it'll take longer to figure out than I was hoping for.

Got bored so I'm experimenting with battery placement, I think this will be a nice compromise between the stock location and a custom electronics tray.
Going to try and rig up a place for the esc up front by the servo.

I think that should work great. I was going in the exact same direction, but I cut out sections of the body under the dash to fit my hunter Dan and hunter Ann figures and their feet hit the battery. I was thinking Velcro would hold it in place "clamped in" like that and work great. Let us know how it works.

I'm running small 1300 3s lipos in the same spot. Works perfect

and i think we have the same motor. i might end up with a smaller battery but its not in the way of anything as is so maybe not.

got the esc mounted where i want it, used a random piece from a high lift kit to make a bracket to hold it, i think this placement is going to be great on the rocks. i have noticed that when i started i wanted a more stock loocking scaler, but now im leaning towards making the truck more capable with bigger tires, cut fenders/flares, and the bobbed bed, should be much more capable when i am finished.

Well I ended up with a hilux too lol. 92$ shipped for a new in box Mojave 2 off eBay, couldn't pass it up vs the cost of the blazer

the new battery placement was a success, i could climb stuff that had me flipping over backwards before i moved the batt, im glad it worked because i had a pretty disappointing time with my cmx wrangler that i brought out for the first time today. it looks great but needs weight down low to offset the tippy wrangler body.

Did a quick color change today, it was looking pretty shabby for a while.

Changed up the wheels and tires, need to finish trimming the front a bit, but as is there is no rubbing.

Nice, really liking the sage green? I really like it with the cap on the bed still though. Those tires look huge, its hard to tell from the pics, but those are 1.9s right? (I literally still know nothing about tires yet)

yeah im using a lot of that green, its the only color i had that isnt tan or black, and yeah the tires are big but they are 1.55 irok's, 4.33 dia. im really looking for the 1.7 version of the same tire, its 4.19 dia, a little smaller would look way better i think, but it really crawls great with the big tires on it.

So I got the junfac cms kit and it is a huge improvement over the rigged together setup I had before, if your trying to decide whether to get it, just get it, it's worth it. And Monday my scalerfab skid will be here and ill post pics of that too.

Got my scalerfab skid today, got it without a finish so I could check out the quality, and I'm very impressed, countersunk screw holes so you don't get hung up on your screw heads, and everything was sanded smooth.

Now to wait for my girlfriends family to leave so I can put this sucker on and go test it.

Well bad news, the holes do not line up with the tranny, can't get it installed, can't believe scalerfab would mess up something like this, emailed them waiting for response, kinda depressed now lol.

Edit: I did get two screws to go in, so I installed it as is until I hear back from them, can't run it like this but it sure does look good.

I took some thin aluminum and made my own. Super easy. I put it inside the frame rails. Pinion angle is still ok. Only cost like $8.
