Default WesleyRoy's Gmade Sawback

Didnt had a Gmade in my collection yet, and since i have a TF2, i like those leafspring cars, so had to have a Sawback also.

Tried to make the wire-job as clean as possible.

Had a Holmes Torquemaster 27t Pro laying around, dont know yet if this is the right motor for the job.

Added a driver.

I couldnt get used to the big Willys body, didnt tought it would be so big (more of a 1/8 scale).

So i used my Sawback body for my Associated T4.1. (sawback fans, dont look )

Was a bit to enthousiastic with cutting the fenders.

Really wanted a hardbody for the Sawback. Then i've read the Sawback Christmas thread and went for the Tamiya Toyota Hilux body.

Made some brackets.

Still a bit high on the front, made miscalculation (didnt count on the extra height of the velcro tape).

Lowered the front and cutted the front grill.

nice! I love your body mount setup and I may copy it when I get a fresh hilux shell, and I have to say the Willys body looks awesome on the t4. Also you may want to rethink your battery location of your actually going to crawl the truck, I had to move mine up front.

Thank you, yes i have this body mount set up, also for my Scx10 with New BRight Jeep JK body and my Axial SCX10 6x6 build, easy to do.

Yess battery location will go to the front, with light 1700mah lipos.

Mean and green.

Found out there where a few waterdrops left of washing the body before painting, didnt see that before painting. Also did a terrible job with filling the mounting holes.

Lets' hide that poorsome filling job.

Grill is not yet mounted.

Lights lenses mounted

First run outside with the Toyota body, and after 100m i've already lost the crosspin in the shafts.. THankfully i already ordered a Junfact shaft set.

Yes, looks great and nice beach area. Are you going to flip the steering draglink above the springs and raise the tie-rod?

What's the benefit to that? (I just got a Sawback and I'm still figuring out mods for it...)

Putting the steering links above the leaf springs gives you some additional approach clearance. Plus, things tend to slide on the bottom of the leaf springs instead of catching on the steering links. Besides a longer screw, you don't need any additional parts in order to make this modification.

This is mine:

Looks great, like the chevy body.

I did some mudding.

splish splash mudding.

Before mudding.

I carried my truck on my scooter with me, and when i got home i found out the side door of my truck was totally white again, it had been scuffing to the side of the scooter.

Also i found out that some paint already started to fall off . (window lines) so did a complete respray. and now it is better.

Installed lights.

Mtn dew theme :-)

Carbon steel Junfac shafts.

Waiting on a winch, and a Holmes Hobbies brushed esc.
