i use the front c hubs and knuckles also the rear lockouts in aluminum, but the plastic material is very strong, never had any problems before i changed.i didn't like the factory pastic hex hubs, tires wobled some seemed sort of soft so replaced those with some 12mm kyosho clamping hubs.

I've added the beef tubes and aluminum knuckles, that's about it.

I bent 2 axle shafts, 1 really bad, on my first run. So I've put gpm spring steel axles all around. At that time i already had the suggested alu parts in place, but they didn't prevent this small disaster. Recently I've added beef tubes also. They should help with reinforcing the axle but I mainly got them to lower my cg.

I bent the steel shafts inside the rear axle. It happened when the car tumbled and and came bouncing down a long steep hill side. Quite probably the wheel wideners added to the leverage, but basically the back wheel suffered some heavy impacts as the car kept gaining speed and hitting the ground with whatever was on the lower side. In the same incident I also must have hit the front wheel badly as some servo gear teeth got stripped too. |

| Re: Axle upgrades Indeed. I've not had any troubles with the gpm axles i used to replace the stock ones. I'verecently converted the car using r1 portal axles and have not had troubles with those stock shafts yet either. Maybe I just had bad luck that first run |

I love the Komodo hate the weak axle shafts. I broke the right front axle trying to climb a rock then got the cvd from gmade and broke again on a tumble same right front side so I got a second set of the gmade cvd and it broke a few weeks ago climbing rocks in partial snow. Very disappointing. I need a new set of axles, is GPM the best option?

The gpm ones worked well for me even with the 14mm wideners installed. But i use a very low kv outrunner and 2s, so it goes real slow. A while ago I put r1 xles on the sawback but the sawback axles have already been reused in a smaller truck, so theyll keep seeing use. |
