Default Sawback Christmas

So my girlfriend got me a sawback for Christmas (she's a keeper), I was just wondering what electronics are popular for these guys motor and esc. Also stay tuned for the build and hilux body swap.

Can't wait to see it with the Hilux body on it! What Motor/ESC combo did you go with?

I went cheap with an axial waterproof esc and rc4wd 45 turn motor, and yeah I cannot wait for the hilux to get here.

I use the axial AE-5 in my Ascender, works fine. I'm sure with that 45t motor this thing will crawl great!

While I'm waiting for my parts to arrive I finished the kit in stock form, I like the willys body in person much better but will still put the hilux on it.

Thanks very much, I was going to do green but decided at the last second that tan would look good, almost makes me want to get another sawback to throw the hilux on lol.

Got all my electronics , my tires and wheels and most of a hilux body, just need lights bumpers and badges. Ill probably use the jeep body when I know it's going to get scratched and banged up, and use the hilux plus 1.55's in my good scale crawling spot once summer comes around.

Got the body and wheels mocked up,definitely need some taller tires I think, but it looks good for now.

Someone was jealous I wasn't taking pictures of her.

Another test fit with an almost finished body and a set of dick cepek fun country 1.55 tires, much better than the dirt grabbers.

That body is awesome! What about interior wise, any room?

There seems to be room, not positive though the tranny and receiver box are right where an interior would go, I'm going to concentrate on the exterior and then when that's done ill try and squeeze one in.

On another note, the stock gmade tires are excellent in snow, much better than either of my 1.55 sets, here's the gmades on my Everest 10/ scx conversion.

when you say you got the hilux body mocked up, did you mean you had to modify it to fit? i saw a few ones where supposedly nothing was done and some others that were cut and modified... pardon if this is a beat to death question. ive been out of RCs for almost 20 years and trying to catch up. it looks awesome so far btw

I went the simple route and just drilled holes for the body posts, but other than that nothing was changed, some are modified to mount without drilling holes. When I say mocked up I mean that it is not at the final height because I'm not sure on the size of tires want to run, I know I want 1.55's but not sure which tire specifically and some are taller than others.

Have you looked at the Mickey Thompson's on mine? They are fairly tall.

I did see them, I think they may be too tall for the look I'm going for, I may just swap my dick cepek's on to my raw landie wheels and run them on the hilux and get something taller for my cherokee which I robbed the dc's from.
