Default Front mounted battery

Was just on amain hobby site and I see gmade has released a front mount battery tray for the sawback. I'd love to have it but it looks like it won't work with the chassis mounted steering servo I have so I was wondering if anyone has tried it out? Here's the link

Seems like I could cut out a rectangle and drill four holes and mount my servo right to the battery plate like a brick plate for an scx10. The battery plate sits at the same place the chassis mounted steering mount is so a few minutes with a dremel and I'd be good to go

That's not a bad looking part and decent price.
I mounted an Extra Axial battery tray on the Flap that sticks out of the RX box.

ScalerFab Sliders and bumpers.

The axial battery mount looks good and probably cheap also. My problem is I'm still using standard 6cell packs, all oldest battery is two years old. Reason I never changed is because all my trucks (tamiya semis and vintage tamiya) all have Novak rooster or super rooster esc and I'm not gonna buy all new lipo compatible stuff. I have 10 or 12 vehicles that me and the kids take out randomly so it would cost me a fortune to convert over to lipo

I still run the Stick Packs too.
I do more tinkering than wheelin and the NiMH is a little more forgiving on sitting.

Made one off the stock RX box as well. servo is still mounted on the axle, I had to angle it up a bit for clearance. Works great

That Gmade part is nice though...they have been doing some good stuff lately.

Im looking to get a Sawback. In order to use the gmade front battery tray do you have to relocate the servo?

I mount my flat 6 and 7 cell stick packs right across the top of the fake motor / top of my servo (I mounted to the chassis using the stock axle servo mount and some spacers)

I have one Velcro strap running through the receiver box (pinched between the fake motor lid) and anothee strap hooked around the overhang of the lid.

Keep a the weight in the front and hasn't ever given me an issue.

The Gmade front battery tray with electronics also mounted to it. Think it possible to go CMS with just two counter sunk holes drilled through the plate.
