I have a gopher that has that problem. You could just order the correct bolts online or you could fill the holes with metal filler(JB WELD, etc.) and then just drill and retap the holes to what you want.

Getting the right bolts aren't the big problem, I've got some comming from eBay, but I'm not sure how to mount the shocks (got stock ax10 shocks atm) I found one bolt in my spareparts bin, but all the shocks I have here have 3mm holes in the ball... I also saw NTC3 rear toe ballends are 6-32 tread, but not sure if that would help?! |

What about using a 3mm nut and bolt through the 6-32 hole.

Put fuel line tubing inside the shock eye and run the bolt through that. Works like a charm!

4u2nv: That was my original plan when i ordered it, but it is a rod that is driled and tapped, not a tube... So the hole is only about 3/4" deep

That was a stupid idea I just looked at the chassis again and realized what I was telling you to do. I forgot it was in the solid tube at the ends... I was thinking of the hustler chassis shock set up. Sorry.

Don't know what thread mine was, (i only do metric) but a 3mm tap worked perfectly. Solid as a rock. (just measured the bar and it's only 6.56mm OD, so 5mm would not leave alot of meterial left would it?) Last edited by motormad; 01-19-2008 at 05:47 PM. |

My son has a gopher chassis with the holes tapped out to 6/32 and all we did is us fuel tubing. Take the pivot ball out and replace it with fuel tube.

I have a Gopher with the 6-32 tapped holes and fuel tubing works like a charm and it's an inexpensive mod.
