| Rightside UP... Upside DOWN Crawler?
Hello all, Just wondering if anyone knows of an RC Crawler that has a design that can be run rightside up and upside down? Basically a Crawler that is asymmetrical top and bottom? Maybe even something that has no Front or Back? Just wondering |

It seems possible to build a crawler with axles that could drive on either side. You have the ground clearance, but if it flips. The axles shift to the other side, and it keeps crawling. Not really worth it, but an interesting design task. |

I'm very new to Rock Crawling and it seems like it would be a very interesting design. I'm kind of thinking of an all terrain vehicle that can be run rightside up and upside down... and forward or backwards. whatever direction it's in would be it's front. Seems like it would be stable enough and any problems with steering or direction can be flipped on the Controller end. Would love to see something that can go at it in so many directions. Versatile...

you mean like that thing that Tyco came out with? i suppose that if you ran Jumbo kongs, it could be done with almost any chassis.

My Clod has been known to drive upside down every now and then! Only in "V" areas though.

I used a wheely king stock chassis, laid it on it's side and screwed the ends of the chassis to the axle housing with some maxx sized K'ROCK's Never went outside with it though. Video goodness http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s5rVNkFQdgI |

when i built my first tuber it was scary close to doing it,but the rules say youre chassis has to be at least 3 5/8'' tall,so it would require some big ass tires evan with a low rider droop setup.Could save some touch penalties.

| http://biorobots.cwru.edu/projects/w...asonic_005.jpg except with wheels. Definately not scale, no suspension except for the flex in the arms of the whegs. Last edited by DKNguyen; 01-23-2008 at 03:57 PM. |
