RCDriver magazine, along with RCCrawler.com are working to hold the first ever RCCrawling event in conjuction with a UROC Pro National Event. This will be held in Portland, IN Friday, July 8th and Saturday July 9th. The purpose of this event is to promote our hobby as much as possible, and help draw new people in. UROC is going to build a course for us, and we are going to set up a booth to display our crawlers. We will be doing crawling demos all thoughout the event, and of course it may end up turning into an all out competition. Those that participate will be given free admission to the event. To get your free admission you need to PM your full name to JasonInAugusta and he will add you to the list. You need to have your info to Jason no later than Monday, July 4th. Due to UROC's liability this is only open to those RCCrawler.com members over the age of 16. |

Thanks Jason. Couple of notes: If you're under 16 you can still be there and be part of the fun, just not on the 1:1 course. We may be able to have a seperate small course in the area the booth will be in. Since there should be good foot traffic there I figure it's a good spot for exposure and general bashing. For more info, check the thread in the Comps forum. Last edited by JasonInAugusta; 06-22-2005 at 11:27 AM. |

I put this together (literally) yesterday morning. This first one will be kinda like going into a blind date...unsure of what to expect. Considering the number of people that have signed up I think that even if there's no course for the little trucks available when we get there that we'll be able to quickly create a course. After this 1st piggyback scenario I'll know better what to expect. I had talked to Mark prior to SEMA about the idea and he wanted me to come to SEMA and bring crawlers. After this go 'round I'm fairly sure we'll end up doing more demos like this. I say contact CalRocs, it can't hurt. There are groups that have been doing RC demos for years at Monster truck shows (Monster Jam) and they've become a part of the show. Heck, even 1:1 drift events have rc drifting comps. Don't see a reason why RC crawling wouldn't be welcomed in the 1:1 crawling comps. | |
