Default Integy axle tubes

I dont know if this belongs in here but here it goes. I have clod axles which I up graded with integy axles with the king pin bearings and thundertech 8mm cvd and jp alumin knuckles. I have an alignment issue when I put it all together, Its as if the knuckles are pushing the axles of there center. when i steer them they click and I managed to brake one of the cvd's. any one else run this combination with similer problem. also its hard to turn them when linked to the servosClick the image to open in full size.

This happened to me and caused me to have an axle issue. I've broken several axles because of this. Try flipping the knuckles around and see if it feels any different. Are you running the inner bearing inside the knuckle? I had to remove the inner bearing to clear up the binding.

Maybe it's the integy tubes causing your problem Everything I have from JP Customs is top notch, integy stuff is all kinda chintzy in my experience. Anyways, don't go badmouthing vendors unless you KNOW their product caused your problem. It could be the knuckles, axle tubes, CVD's, bearings, assembly error etc...

I had the very same prob tonight actually. I think Integy made the tubes to take up a lil slop. And the MIP CVD's did the same. Hence they are a bit tight to say the least. I chucked up the short and the long cvd shafts and took .010 off the shoulder of each. Works like a charm. But not everyone has a lathe. You could chuck it in a drill press and use a file to take down the shoulder a bit. You will need a caliper to get a good measurement though.

Try bolting the knuckles up to the stock plastic tubes and see if they work. If not send them back to me and I'll bolt them up and see whats wrong. If the knuckles where machined wrong I will replace them no problem. Is everyone thats posted on this page been trying to mount these up with Integy Tubes?

The problem is definitely in the Integy tubes. It is not the knuckles themselves, whether they're Integy or JP. I've experienced the same problems with CVD's, Integy universals, and stock axles. They all bind up when using the Integy tubes. They are a good value for the money, but the cost of replacing all those axles far outweigh the savings.

I have been running Ingety tubes, CVD's and JP kunckles. The only issue I had was I think the integy tube are a little longer than the stock tubes. I couldn't get 2 e-clips on the axles so I just ran the one on the inside. And I had to shimmed the axles (to keep the main gear centered) without it shimmed it would slide to one side and let the axle silde out of the main gear.

I did not mean to offend anyone in here. I simply made a wish if my wish was wrong I now know it. I thought I'd simply raise some eyebrows to a problem that I'm sure now I'm not the only one with. I am simply a consumer not a manufacturer these rigs are not toys where we can leave the problems unheard. Thankfully some of the companies frequently read in here being that this is one of the best forums if not the best forum on the INTERNET. I use to have the knuckles mounted up on the plastic tubes. I developed a squeak that I could not get rid of. Then I realized that the tubes were twisting so I went and got the Integy tubes, thats when the problem got worse the knuckles did not want to line up right with the tubes. So I did some simple line up observations. I put a rod thru the king pin holes, that seemed to line up. Then I put a rod thru the knuckles and looked thru the shaft hole. The rod was off to one side slightly, leading me to believe that the problem was in the knuckle. It was very plain to see. Assembly error I think not, installation is pretty straight forward. It doesn't take much to mount up tubes and knuckles. I'm sorry I touched a nerve with you chrisjlittle, I didn't realize that some people are partial to certain vendors here. I'm here cause I wanted some advise not to get flamed on. The removal of the inner bearing seemed to work I guess cause the cvd can flex alil more then with the double set up. I'd hate to send back all my knuckles or even my complete axles cause I hate to have my hustler down for that much time. If I could I would take it to JP so that we can work on it, but I'm in NY. For now I am satisfied with the fix, till something better come up, maybe I'll switch to Raptor axle instead and do away with it all, I will watch what I say in the future. I want friends not enemies

If it's truly my knuckles I'll replace them. There is no way I can tell, Till I see them. Next time please shoot me an E-mail or even a PM and I will help you out. I've been pretty good at returning PM's and E-Mails so you won't ever be waiting.
