| Anyone with multi-speed transmission?
Hi, is there anyone who has a multi-speed transmission? Please tell me what you think about it. I am thinking it's be cool to have one, but seems only RC4WD has one and you have to stop to change gear. What do you think if I slap on Savage's $80 3-speed transmission. Then it will shift automatically. Any thoughts? It claims you can adjust the shift point. Imagine setting the first-second gear just above the maximum grip the tire would have. So either your tire slips and shift to second gear, or your truck goes fast on flat groud and shifts. Crippy crawler + Fierce basher... WOW. |

Savage tranny shifts from rpm. It uses a centerfugal (spelling) clutch that engages the different gears. Will not work really well with electric. You could use it as I have experimented a bit, but it is not worth the headache.
