Hei guy, I want to put together a rig that has 2 gears. I wonder if the R2 from RC4WD can shift while the truck is running. Also, will I have reverse. E-maxx's 2 speed sounds good too, but won't you break the gears shifts when running. Does it have a "synco" like a real car? Anyway tried the savage's 3 speed? Thanks.

You can shift the R2D at any speed and yes, you will still have reverse.

The e-maxx tranny was designed to shift at speed, all you have to do is shift, let off the gas and then get back on it. Poof, second gear! FYI, stay away from the three speed, it is an atomatic, not the best for slower cars.

you dont need to get off the gas to shift the emaxx...it shifts just fine at full speed without damage...mine survived for a while that way (trans is still find but i dismantled the truck)
