sw3 or gc-1. your best bets to have a great comp rig. The blackjack also looks good and performs well.

I would go out and buy a Axial AX-10 it's a great starting point. SW3 or GC-1 is going to cost you about the same by the time your done. The WK axles are a bit to wide for my taste in a 2.2 comp rig.

I am a rookie too. I have done a fair bit of homework on here and have talked to a hand full of people. I ordered a DMG DCV Pro for my first rig. I know it seems a bit much for a newb, but I think I can make it work pretty well. There are so many options out there it is not even funny. The AX10 is certainly a great starting point though.

just got off offroader5's site and seen his new scale chassis so now I have been thinking about maybe doing a scale rig that I can put a f-150 body on to match my dad's new f-150 that we got yesterday.

The ax-10 is a great starting point, but you can get WK axles plenty narrow with the right wheels, and once that's straightened out, it's a wash between WK and AX axles. The AX axles have a little more ground clearance, but I'm not convinced it makes a huge difference. I'd say, build one of offroader5's chassis designs, drive it, tweak it and have fun. This is supposed to be about fun, right?

yeah fun being the key word. I just like to build things. I think that I might build the scale chassis that offroader designed. and see how the scale rigs perform so I can do the f-150 body. are there any vids of some scale rigs that I could watch?
