That sick KC.. what body is that?

JohnRobHolmes 06-25-2005 07:16 PM

you almost fooled me with that first pic. i thought it was a clean full scale rig until i noticed the background.

kingcobra 06-25-2005 07:32 PM

thanks...it's a very modified bratz (kids toy) body.

OldSchoolCrawler 06-25-2005 08:08 PM

Now that looks SSWEEEEETT!! :) :) I realy need more time and$$$$ for projects like that. This site has totaly changed the way I look at RC 4X4s. I used to think my ZII was cool.

Well then...don't look at porn.

kingcobra 06-25-2005 09:11 PM

there's nothing wrong with a little porn...or a lot of porn actually.

some flex pics...lol not bad for a rig with stiff assed jug leafs...the FULL leaf packs too not just one leaf. thats how heavy this thing is...the bathroom scale says 12 lbs.

Damn kc it's looking good

same quality as the orange supra.

Texrok 06-26-2005 08:15 AM

Hey Kingcobra,
That truck looks kick @$$. Where do you find those scale accessories such as the gas cans, tools, fire extinguishers, high lift jacks etc? I know your rig doesn't have all that I mentioned but I am on the hunt for this stuff, and have had no luck.

ILoveRCRockCrawlin 06-26-2005 08:30 AM

are you ever goin to make the winch operational?

kingcobra 06-26-2005 08:52 AM

texrok, I actually got the gas cans, the shovel and the ax from another forum member...I looked at all the local stores and came up empty so I started asking around...sure enough someone had what I needed. got em all for $20 shipped. I just repainted em and made the can mounts out of brass.

ILoveRCRockCrawlin, the winch does work. and it's controlled from the radio.

thanks for the replies.

update...

chassis painted...

still need to make 6 more U bolts...driveshafts are on order.

RCALLOYS 06-26-2005 10:12 AM

Whoa, very impressive. Been watching this over on Scale4X4.com last few weeks. You certainly do some outstanding creating! The body has got to have quite a few hours in it. Attention to detail on the body alone is mind boggling. Very unique project.

kingcobra 06-26-2005 10:19 AM

thank you.

btw I forgot to mention all of the lights work. I need some small offroad lights for the front of the roof rack...those RAM lights look like @ss...I might have to make some.

rckjeep 06-26-2005 10:21 AM

I think All-T's would fit it better

kingcobra 06-26-2005 10:23 AM

I'll try them...but I have the moabs in mind.

AdamF 06-26-2005 10:25 AM

Kickass man! With the axle painted black, it looks 100 times better! Looks real!

kingcobra 06-26-2005 10:42 AM

yea...I couldn't see detailing the body that much and leaving the chassis and suspension all silver and shiny. I hope the paint stays on fairly well...

and thank you

badtodabone 06-26-2005 12:06 PM

how do you like my shovels and gas cans? They look right at home!

kingcobra 06-26-2005 01:59 PM

they fit great...

here's a bottom shot...

http://img287.echo.cx/img287/4623/dsc003192ia.jpg

and if I feel like doin some really rough offroadin I can always stick the old body on it...I might even buy a brand new one of these and paint it up just for that...but leave the flares on it....

kingcobra 06-26-2005 02:24 PM

for those who are tired of seeing pics of it on my desk (like myself) I went outside for a couple...(most got screwed up with lighting cause suck with a camera). still need to get some lexan for my inner fenders...
