| ive seen a bunch of ways to build artificial courses. heres an idea im going to try here soon. should work great. instead of goin the xpensive route of using line-x to coat the obsticles, i run a used tire shop and there is a water based rubberized paint that we use to paint the old tires to make them look new. its been around for a while but im going to coat some of the obsticles that arent actual rocks with it and it is way cheaper than line-x! you can buy it in 5 gallon buckets and dilute with water so it will go along way. just another option. you should be able to buy it online or from a large local tire distibutor. i will try and figure out how to post pics here soon. im converting a large part of my back yard. | In the past we covered the linex with elastomeric paint. It is a rubberized paint that sound pretty close to what you are describing. Without the spray on bed liner there was not even close to enough protection for the foam. The crawler tires themselves were able to tear right through it. But hey, give it a shot and see if it works. |

| You can buy something like that at walmart. Kinda like a roll on liner. Get you some foamlite concrete, rebar, and chicken wire. Bend up the rebar and wrap with chicken wire. Then you coat it with this lite weight concrete. You can make a rock and it weighs half as much! |

If it's an outdoor course, I'd build up some forms out of wood and chicken wire and slap a couple coats of concrete on 'em. Last edited by Mad Scientist; 04-11-2008 at 09:22 AM. | |
