maxx diff for gear reduction/t case?

has anyone ever mounted a maxx diff in ther center of thier truck and used it for a gear reduction and transfer case? i think i might try it but does anyone know if it would be too much reduction?

If I remember correctly there is a fellow over at scale4x4rc hacked up a TXT/Jugg axle and used it as a transfer case. Rikpal maybe?

I believe the reduction on a maxx diff is right around 2.7:1

Seven, only problem with that would be that would be the input shaft. If you turn the diff so that the outputs go towards the axles, then the motor and tranny would have to be pointing straight up, or straight out toward the side of the truck. You might be able to get away with mounting the motor/tranny sideways if you use a very compact setup like a 'Pede tranny or something. Still a cool idea!

thanx for the replys, but i dont think im going to do it because in a tuber if i didnt like i would have to change my tranny mounts, but something like a gd-600 i could just take it off
