| axles pushed forward alittle?
k so i heard its kinda good that when you make ur links to have the axle a little bit rocked forward at a tilt,so when its at full droop it will lay flat. will this affect the steering at all? cause it really seems like it would |

Depends on your link geometry. If your link geometry is setup right there shouldn't be any pinion angle change through the range of travel. Yes it would effect steering to some degree but I haven't really noticed caster changes on my rigs other than the clearance of the steering rods. Mostly what you'll notice is whether the top of the tire leans in or out when turning. The forward tilt of the axle would be mostly for drive line angles so your u-joints don't bind. It also gives a little extra break over clearance on the pinion. If you're using axles with clocked hubs like Axial or the WK, then it's already done for you. It's more of an issue with axles like the TLT and High Lift. With my Axial and WK axles I set my links so the hub/spindle screws are vertical. On my TLT's and High Lift I set the links so the top of the knuckles are slightly forward for the drive shaft angles. |
