Got it running last night but I didn't wire in my dig unit yet, just wired both motors directly for now to see how it drives. The axles seem to be a little noisy to me but maybe because it was 2:00 in the morning and it was quiet and echoing inside the house. They drove very smoothly and are very responsive. For now I threw in an Axiom 55T 15T pinion on the front and an Axiom 45T 14T pinion on the rear. That's just what I had laying around and easy access to last night. I will admit though, wall and chair crawling it last night, it seemed to have plenty of torque and lots of wheelspeed on a 3S 2000 mAh lipo. Real rocks will prove it. The steering is not bad, but again, I'll need to compare it to both my AX10 and Berg. All I know is I kept hitting the dig button and got no response. It's funny how we get so used to something. Somehow my wheelbase has shrunk down to 12" so I need to figure out the best thing to dial it back in to 12.5, probably just move or extend the lowers a bit. I tried to get a better shot of the link mounts and these are the only pics I have right now. If anyone needs to see anything else, please let me know and I'll take some pics. . |

I like that the gears swap out. The more products with overlapping parts- the better!

This really is grabbing my attention. A Berg alternative is always a good thing. I guess that means that the 2.2 MOA is here to stay. I have seen many Bergs and they are stout little axles. I commented on the finish of these in another thread. Do you feel that these are as well built and finished? I am digging the black look though.

Ok i have a couple questions, so the axial straight axle and adapters wont work with the hr ones? all i will need are stock bearings, c-hubs, steering knuckles and axle ends right? also the berg link mounts? if someone can help me out with part #'s i would really appreciate it, i don't want to buy the wrong parts and get stuck with them all the way here in Honduras.

| I don't know, the caster is not as bad as it looks in some of the pictures. It's nearly the same as my Berg. Quote:
Yes, you will need the stock bearings, axle stub, and knuckles, but not the c's as they are built into the axle. The link mounts come with the axle, both upper and lower. If you want to make it a four link using the same part I did, RCP sells it here - http://www.rcpcrawlers.com/product.p...&cat=29&page=2 . If you have questions about a specific part, let me know. Good luck!

| See, it really does run.
Shot this last night after wiring it up and hooking up the battery. It actually ran the first time turning it on. Now, is it loud to you? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ombmav4lcnw |

That does seem loud. Did you use any lube when you assembled them? |

I will try and add some grease, is there a preferred kind? I've just used regular lithium grease from Walmart on my DNA dig so I suppose that will be fine on these gears. I'll try and see if it helps. Thanks for the suggestion.

Based on the pic below, it looks like Jake is right about the upper link mount being 1/8" off. It looks like your axle is shifted to the "driver" side. Could you confirm or deny this? Great info here man. |

It's defiantly got some gear noise for sure. I'll bet some of Rocksmith's GearJelly would knock that down a few decibels it's some good stuff.
