| Well after spending more and more time on this site I think I wanna get into the crawling thing lol.. I had a t-maxx but was tired of dealing with nitro so the crawler has to be electric.. I have a fac team t3 right now which i could just trade or sell as a roller I guess. It has a super rooster in it.. would that be good for a crawler? It also has a jr xr2 radio system.. do most crawler need 3 channel? I dont wanna spend much money getting into the cralwer thing so I was wondering whats a good chassis to start with and types of axles, rims ect. is good. I dont think i need to worry about tires though |

| if you have paid attention more you would realize that 99.9% of us use super rooster and that third channel radio is what you want for independent 4 wheel steering so very good things to start with as for axels go with solid like x factor ,clod , txt1 those guys you see with independant axels that are turning them into solid are guys that wish they had solid axels and made mistakes when they got there emaxx hope this helps |

| easy bigred. Robshobbies, If you do some searches on some of your specific questions you will find the answers are already here. 3 channel radio is not nessecary if you are ok with 2 wheel steering. Most of us like the 4WS so we opt for 3 channels. Super Rooster is the ESC of choise for crawling. It is hard to beat the reliability, performance and price. Chassis is entirely up to your preference. There are alot of great chassis designed for crawling. Do some searching here, read, then read some more and determine what would suit your budget and preference best. Axels, just like the chassis. There are many different axels you can go with. |

Not true. There are actually a few benifits of having the maxx suspension turned into solid axle. The main thing is ground clearance. You have a lot more of it this way.

Yes,in 1:1 IFS sux bad,I won't argue that for 1 second. In the RC world though, maxx type independent can be made to work resonably well. There's certain aspects of the design that can be overlooked and tweeked farther than any real world IFS/IRS. Granted you can't get 90* of twist,if you look at it in scale though it's a whole different ballgame. An Emaxx will twist ALOT farther than say,a stock Toyota IFS front end. On the same note, getting 90* of twist is nothing but show. Getting that far is actually hendering the performance more than it's doing good. If you look at it in scale, the wheel travel an Emaxx IFS/IRS has is probly close to or more than most of the top 1:1 comp buggies I think the subject here though is the fact that you can make the Maxx IFS/IRS into a solid axle and gain more than double, maybe triple, the ground clearence of say,a stock Clod axle. Lock the arms out or get custom with some tube and rebuild the whole thing. The end result is a strong axle that has a ton more clearence

| I run an EVX (14.4V) Lathe motors (Well, I'm intending to run it on the lathe motors, we'll see how they do..) and clod axles. Custom aluminum frame, pretty much everything is homebrew. Lathe motors are THE best for crawling, I had the chance to use some and they're EXCELLENT super low RPM (gotta be like 5-7k) and more torque than any other motor I've used (well, without sky high RPMs) Http://www.integy.com As for batteries I have the 3,000 mAH from Http://www.amondotech.com cheap prices, excellent service and great packs. Clods are probably the easiest to get going on (And you can't argue with who wins more comps ;) Although that seems to be changing some as of late) I can't wait to see those K-Rocks from ya either Dave |

| Super Rooster can do 6-10 cells. Kyosho's Magnetic Mayhem 22x1 motors are $20 and popular, and avaliable in reverse. But seriously, all this info is here, spend time reading. Can't find it here, use Google. |
