Default Stock LEO X - lack of torque !!

Hi All ,

I am a newbie here ,
Recently got my hands on LEO-X ( VMG ) . it runs OK .. has the 12t pinion installed. But when ever i try to climb over small obstacles with the tires still having grip , it kind of feels heavy and stops :? .. no wheel spins ...

Is this normal ? can i get a stronger motor or increase gear ratio any futher ??

thanks ....

You can get an 8-tooth pinion, but you have to moddify the motor plate.

If I may suggest two things, number one read sean's article about VMG crawler transformation, number two I would put a gear reduction in.

If you're going to crawl effectively, use a gear reduction. For the casual crawler, you could probably get away with a 300 size plane motor, or the fireball. But the plane motor is cheaper.

I think you need new Batterys. The stock ESC/Recvr is not very forgiving when it comes to low batterys. Whenever my batterys run low mine behaves the same way you are describing.

Where can i get 8T pinion , is it from some other 1/18 scale rc ?

have already moved the shock mounts to the recommended positions for a little more artic..
Will be locking my diffs with hot glue today ...

Will be using it mostly for some casual crawling ...

8t pinion could probably be found for either the micro RS4 or the mini-t.

Tried the 8t pinion , was better , but still not what i was looking for ...
Put a GWS 6.6:1 reduction unit in ..... now I have the throttle control that i wanted , and It can really climb on steep angles..

Next phase :
relocate the batteries and get a bit more articulation - need softer springs ...
