it seems the funrise rep honestly would like to know what needs beefed up and what needs changed on these things for future changes. what do YOU think should be differnt on them. -proportional steering and throttle -move the serial # sticker somewhere it might last for more than 30 seconds -lower it a little or put softer springs on it thats about all i can think of kolby |

If the serial number sticker was to be moved anywhere, the inside of the battery cover is the spot for it. I don't have a stock spring here (cut all of mine), but I'd guess that the stock springs on the 1:18 rigs are twice as stiff as they need to be. Proportional steering and throttle on the 1:18 rigs would be killer. Move the steering return spring behind the final output gear on the steering system. It'll work just the same, but won't fly off if someone decides to pull the cover off the steering gears. |

make tighter tolerances on all the steering gears in the front axle or make it so that the motor's gear ration's aren't quite as strong. The damn motor is too much for the gears at the ratio they have them at. Also, the things mentioned in the original post |

softer springs proportional steering and throttle would be nice. a few different choices of tires (aftermarket "hop ups") a low range only axle (maybe be a high clearance) But all in all, its an awesome starting platform! |

Low range only would be great. The only time I even put it into high range is to kill off the rest of the battery once it slows down on the rocks. There is no need for high range on these things. Plenty of other R/C cars around that do a better job of going fast. These things really shine going slow!! I'd also really like a proportional throttle. Steering mabye, but proportional throttle is a must! |

I'M THE SAME MORE CLEARANCE WOULD BE AWSOME TO HAVE SOFTER SPRING'S AND MYBE TIGHTEN UP THAT STEERING A LITTLE.....MYBE OFFER A BIGGER WHEELL AND TIRE COMBO FOR IT ALSO

low range only is an easy mod, and you would gain zilch from doing it. it wouldnt make the axle any smaller, it would take away maybe a few grams. my changes proportional steering and throttle would be nice, but are we talking 20 more dollars on that? new tires aftermarket rims to fit more standard tires (2.2 cough cough) tighter tolerances on circuit board manufacturing- most problems occur there |

the low range only part is so they could build a new higher clearance axle that only had one gear ratio so u could loose the rock anchors. yes it would be worth another 20 for proportional steering and throttle to me. kolby |

have you taken apart the axle? it is a multi step planetary. no clearance would be gained from taking out high gear- its part of the low gear reduction and would still be there. the only part missing would be the gear on the thru axle. if you want more clearance, lets see a better moulded axle case that gets rid of all the air space around the axle shaft.

I wasn't referring to keeping this axle, hopefully they could design an axle with a little more clearance. I have so much fun with this little truck, I have to keep reminding myself that it only cost 45 bucks. So in my book, beggars can't be choosers. I like it the way it is, and if they (or us) can make it better - great! If it stays the same? You can bet I'll be running this one til its dead, and buying another! Realisticly, I don't see an axle redesign. Now softer springs, different rims / tires, that type of stuff I could see happening, I hope they do add some "hop-ups". as that would make a great product even better! That is my .02 on it anyway. |
