Looks awesome, and I hate to say it, but its been done before. There was one in a magazine with 4 stroke motor in it, looked factory almost. Looks like yours is a much more capable crawler, I think this guy used a much larger truck as a base, like a TXT-1 or something. He programmed his so that when he let off the gas it went right into brake. I will see if I can find the article when I get off from work. I wouldn't want to follow that down the trail, I bet the rocks have some more oil on them after you go by haha. Edit - Finally got a few to watch that utube video, looks awesome! Sounds like the engine RPM was the same, did you set a high idle or use the throttle? Last edited by phillyb; 08-18-2009 at 01:19 PM. |

Very cool, I too am building a Nitro Rock Crawler, I have a truck (HPI Nitro Monster King) and I'll be using most the part from HPI's crawler conversion on it, but I'm a little stumped on the clutch to use and how to gear mine down (I wish I could use the kits 174:1 reduction box), any idea's on this would be great. Thanks in advance.

| get the worm
I knew it could be done, my idea of a nitor crawler had worm gear drive axles though. That would give you the drag breaks with out the need of breaks.
