I'm diggin' it. Pretty clean dovetail work on the rear. |
1 Attachment(s) all done with scissors and shoe goo. i cleaned up the front edge of the hood since the pic was taken as well: |
What type of glue did you use to bond the lexan together? |
shoe goo and drywall mesh. |
You going down to the CIncinnasty meet? |
not with gas at $2.75 a gallon. we just got a humongous credit-card bill and the wife has me on a strict economic diet right now. maybe next time. |
Hey that thing is killer, nice job! Is there any chance to see some more pics, like some more detail ones of the back? |
http://img385.imageshack.us/img385/455/mvc033s0yj.jpg first step was to cut out the upper panel on the back, leaving the fenders intact. then slice off about 3/4 of the tailgate and notch the corners of the rollbar and where the fenders meet the tailgate. join the two halves of the tailgate, drill 2 holes and screw the halves together using some shoe-goo to bond the pieces. then shoe-goo the joints at the corners of the rollbar, then cut the upper panel to fit the new opening, then glue that in position. http://img301.imageshack.us/img301/5416/mvc034s5vc.jpg same idea up front, only the hood was left attached at the back. i added some headlights from the Big Deuce model kit. all the joints up front are reinforced with drywall mesh in the shoe-goo. |
