Default a $280 rtr super...redcat racing announces their new truck

http://shopping.netsuite.com/c.84985...4Pa38Ta38Na3j0

Ill have to track down my spy photos from I-hobby. The electronics seem cheap china stuff but the axles and chassis werent bad.
The bumpers are easily removed.
The "pro" version will be out in a couple months, $350 rtr and much improved over this version.

I'm not an expert, nor do I play one on tv, but that thing seems a little floppy and bouncy. It does seem to crawl pretty well though.

I do like thier idea on the steering "programs", though I don't know how long it would take for it to become intuitive enough to not have to stop and look to find the setting you want.

I really hope the axles are up to the task... because I can see myself building a super with some if they are. I also hope the "Pro" version adds something more that I don't see with this one. Also hoping that with the intro of the XTM crawer and these, there is a little more effort in the super area, because after I'm done building a couple of 2.2's... I want something BIG.

The bumpers double as the servo mounts (ala the TXT) so if you remove them you'll need to fab new servo mounts.

The chassis is actually set-up with reverse-triangulated upper links, with more or less straight lower links (between chassis and axle mounting points anyway)

Those mounting points on the axle may become an issue as they're kind of out in the open, but time will tell with that as well as how the rest of the crawler holds up. The steering options on it are pretty kool though.

found my pics of it

When I messed around with the truck at the show it seemed to have promise. Cg was realy low... tires seemed like crap to me, beadlocks are simulated and the electronics it it were no name blue boxes.

Red cat Smarttech and I think 2 or 3 other knock off companies all get their trucks from the same chinese manufacturing facility. I am not at all fond of their nitro cars and trucks the electrics are ok at best. but who knows this truck may actually have potential and it is a super rtr and its cheap
