Talking Custom shafty chassis plates...finally!

Well, I FINALLY got around to getting my side plates cut (thx. Kevin!). Basically, I took the final measurements of my old TXT, made them MUCH lighter, made them look cooler, but most of all, made them UNIQUE!!!

These sideplates were designed for a 1/4" delrin skid plate, and 3 crossbraces. This was also design to utilize either a txt tranny, OR a maxx tranny. So, the possibilities are pretty broad.

I quess this was kind of a teaser. Once I get some delrin in, I'll put my spare txt together with these. And yes, I'll probably sell these once I'm done. This IS NOT an advertisement, because I don't have the infamous "blue star" yet, but soon. Well, as soon as I get one of these babies mocked-up anyway.

What'cha think?

-WRM

P.S. sorry for the links, I can't use my star to upload because of the pic size, and the program I normally use to resize is acting screwy.

I resized them for you.

I think they are cool. I have been wanting to do some out of Ti but I just have been too lazy to get to my friends Wet jet shop.

Looks good! But how thick are the plates and what grade of aluminum did you use? They look a little thin to me but if it's 7075 or something it would probably be pretty strong.

If you do decide to sell I think it would be great. This chassis could fil a huge gap with the Rockraider no longer in production.

I do plan on using a delrin skid, as noted in the first post.

Thanks for the replies, I'm happy with how they turned out. These are just prototypes made from 1/16" 6061. I had originally wanted 1/8", but this is all the company had at the moment. But, after looking at them, I firmly believe that 1/16" will be just fine. I've designed it to be strong in the first place, plus, with a full-length skid across the bottom, and three horizontal braces on the top from solid 1/4" rod, I think it'll hold up well.

Plus, they're super light, and I definitely like that. Time will tell. I'll post again when I make more progress.

Long story... That's all I have to say.

Replacement?... unknown at this time.
