Default Started Modding (pics)

Well last night was the start of the construction (and demolition) It was mostly a learning night with painting going on. Tore down the the body and all its components and got them all painted. I plan on detailing the hinges and what not. (like building models) Also tore apart the chassis to get some better understanding. I can see why people are moving the rear shock mounts inward. Where there are now allows for so little travel.

Question, When you move the shock mounts in it seems that they won't be compressed as much. Does this change the normal ride height at all? I can see where you get more travel since the shock is stretched more.

Heres a few pics of where i am now.

First i took the wheels apart. I wanted to drill out some holes in the rims for air movement. I found out you can drill out holes in the chrome side. JUST BE SURE NOT TO DRILL THE HOLES THAT HAVE MOUNTING TABS.

Heres a pic of the tire with no rim, just a plastic insert in the middle.

Some pics of the painting. First the roll bar and rims. I'll be painting the bead locks aluminum.

And a pic of the chassis apart. I think i'm going to paint the suspension arms too. that blue is terrible. I'm trying to decide a depth to heighten the belly. I did read some on here but if anyone has some more info shoot me a pm or something. Dremmels ready to go!

yup its tan. It was supposed to be a REALLY light color green but i think the orange plastic changed it a little but i still like it.

Looks like we will have a pretty similiar paint scheme. I'll be painting my wheels black too and adding some real lights today.
