Default Help me deciede Pajero or Cliff Climber

I am going to get one or the other for Christmas from the parents, just can't decide.

I currently have a TLT comp rig and a Axial Blackjack in the works, so I am leaning more towards the pajero for another scale rig, but I already have a 1.9 Ramcharger and a 2.2 Blazer.

If you had to chose, which would you buy and why? I can get the pajero for 130 with esc or 112 without and I can get the cliffclimber for 90 as a kit and 140 as a RTR. Probably wouldn't use the stock electronics in the cc for long, so the 90 dollar kit may be better.

I love the looks of the pajero though.

So again, which would you get and why.

Thanks!

Or..... Do I ask for a nasty brushless setup for my rustler sand truck?

that is the way I am leaning.

Don't really need another comp style build right now.

didn't take much persuasion, I am going with the pajero. If I decide I want a cliff climber later I can pick one up at 90 bucks.

Where can you get a Pajero for $130 because I want one too?

I'd go for the XC-01/CC-01. I bought one and with a couple simple mods, shimming the rear diff gear and using loner machine thread screws in the gearbox cover/motor hold down plate survived several thrashings with a Goat BL system.

Well, looks like the site I had found the pajero for 130 at is in Hong Kong, so shipping is about 45 bucks. Might fore me to go the other direction since that puts it outside the budget.

And I was really excited about getting one too....

Basically after the run in the videos I swapped to a brushed to avoid breaking anything, no way it could put up with abuse like that for long! lol So testing out the brushed motor out in the yard it started clicking when I'd try to climb something or go up an incline. I took it inside and noticed the tapping screws that hold down the trans cover were letting the screws pull out under stress, so I used longer machine screws to go all the way through the chassis to the bottom and I think I may have put a nut on them too. I'll get a couple pics this morning and tie them in with how I shimmed the rear axle thread. I think I did it here, but it's over on Scale4x4 too.

I remember watching vids of the AS on varcor a while back. Definitely looked like a fun rig.

Can't wait to get mine

The problem with the Pajero is that if you stick a big fat powerful motor in it it'll get to a point where you just wear everything on the truck out. You will just need to get a new one in a year or two because it's going to be beyond repair. I would go for the brushless system.

i have seen a few XC chassis around for sale. there was one in the classifieds section here a week ago.

i would go for the jero/xc.
not that i have any exp with either one, i just see a ton of cool vids out with cc01 setups. i am actually working on one for myself now.

either way i guess you cant go wrong.

My parents just ordered the pajero.

Definitely glad I went with it.

Has been a while since I got to build a new kit from the ground up.

Already ordered the bearings for it as well. Probably going to build it stock and leave it that way for a while, just add scale details. I have enough others I can beat on, so maybe this one will stay pretty.....
