Help installing T-Maxx or Revo shafts to Traxxas Hawk transmission...

Ok, I have an older transmission that came out of either a Traxxas Hawk or a Hawk2, but they are all the same anyway...does anyone make adapters to connect Maxx or Revo shafts to the smaller transmission outputs? if not, does anyone have a way of making them work?

I used the bigger ends and just dealt with the slop. It didn't seem to hurt anything. I believe I had to shave down the ends so that they would go on all they way.
Of course, this was on my crawler. If it was a high speed thing, a sloppy driveline would be bad.

Another option is to sleeve the smaller shaft with metal tubing (brass, alum. or mild steel) of the right diameter and thickness. It might be necessary to split the tubing by cutting a slot in it to fit tightly. If there's a pin going through the two, you'll need to drill a hole for it. Pretty easy, and gets rid of the slop.

Thanks TrailDawg, that's exactly what I was thinking of doing...there is no hole in the output shaft, just 2 flats for the set-screws and a threaded insert hole in the middle to secure the output yoke to the output shaft, but I can sleeve it and drill holes through both for the new Traxxas through-pin...thanks!

Why not use the T-maxx yokes tat connect to the transmission. They are made to fit a 5mm shaft so should bolt right up to you tranny. I believe the part number is 4927X. That's how I them to work on my crawler.

Edit: Nevermind, I had the 6mm diff yokes in my hand when I was fitting them...I grabbed the 5mm transmission yokes and they fit just fine. I drilled a hole in the output shafts for the Maxx yoke pins and everything works perfectly. I had to Dremel a little off the yokes, but just a tiny bit, which shouldn't affect strength at all.
