Hey all, got a project in the works that i know i'll need help with. I've got a TL-01. it WAS a succesful drifter (somehow running a mamba max), now taken apart severely. i've converted it to TL-01B. I've just played with my slash rims and tyres (2.2" i believe), and it seems that it could be a decent trail scaler, possibly more. i've got a 70t motor on the way, and i have to get more rims and tyres for it as i can't steal them off my 100% working slash forever. so, i guess my questions would be: Can you lower the gearing any more than a 19t pinion in a TL? What are cheap, entry level rims and tyres and where can I get them? What are your general thoughts on such a project? Should I just stop being partial to TL-01s and buy an axial or something? Cheers, Jason. |

While i'm sure it would be a fun project I just don't see it being better than an axial. I bought an ax10 and haven't looked back since. They're fun trucks with a pretty much endless supply of aftermarket and diy parts. Good luck I'm sure you'll find all the info you need on this site.
