Default My Reign Widemouth rig for the '09 season

Well since the BlackJack has been retired, (thank you to all that joined the BlackJack Army) I went out to find a new rig to run. I gave Pinchy a call and of course through his strong arm tactics I ended up with a Widemouth Narrow chassis for my Hot Racing axles. I was impressed at the very simple and clean layout of the chassis. After some measuring up I made some links and was under way. I opted to use the Revo shocks I had because I didn't want to get new shocks. I had longer shock ends to make them up to the 4" length I needed. I filled them with 75 wt oil and I threw on 18B springs on them. They allow the shocks to run about 25% down from top. Just perfect in my opinion.

I made an upper tray so that I can run a small lipo on the chassis plate and the electronics up top. So far it is really clean and it works well.

For the final touches I painted up a Pro-Line 80's K-10 body for it and I mounted up the new Chisels on 8 Shooter beadlocks.

Took it out today to test it. I was very impressed at the predictability of the rig. The shock setup worked really well. I could have used a little more articulation but overall the rig was planted.

I am stoked to try something different this season. Thanks to the Reign Crew for letting me fly their flag again.

On to the pics.....

Glad to see you are now playing for the other team...I mean...that kind of sounds a little like we are...um

I like the build and the little springs work really well, how are they working w/out cups?. And ps, the tires looks mean on there.

It is. Front is white so the Reign sticker looked good and the rear is silver.

Well Culleto cut an L shaped servo mount for on top of my axle. It was working fine until one of the tabs broke off. I couldn't track down a servo case by this weekend. Fishmaxx and I talked about some ides and so I used the HR servo mount, cut the tabs off of it and voila the most beefy servo mount I have ever seen. It is funny that an almost 400 oz/in torque servo still has a plastic case. Need to have billet cases for them.

So far so good. I will make some cups that ride low on the servo ends. I like the mid ride height.

I think the tires really do make the truck look sick.

Looks kind of ghetto but it works. I will find a way to button that up.

I have never run really long links. This setup just works. The chassis is a little over 2" wide and is light as heck.
