Default 1.9 comp axles

So what is everyone using to meet the 8" trackwidth rule for 1.9 comps? I am thinkin of building a 1.9 comp bastard but want to look at different options for the axles first.

I have both MRC and narrowed TLT's.

I say the diff clearance of the MRC is a big plus. They need some upgrading though before I would recommend starting a comp season.

More clearance yes but is that extra little bit of clearance make up for durability? Like U said, MRC's could use some upgrading. As we all know, TLT's can be shaved to add clearance. I think the TLT's would take more of a beating stock than mrc's and if you beef up tlt's then you should be good to go. One good thing about tlt axles is that there are tons of aftermarket parts for them. Don't get me wrong here, I think the MRC is a great 1.9er but i.m.o. it just isn't as durable. mrc was designed around its stock weight, motor power, tranny and so on. not sure how the axles would hold up to extra weight, power or true comp abuse. Didn't stop me from owning one though

I really wanted to build a TLT based 1.9. It is not that easy to make the TLT axles work without reducinng them.

I have gone to MRCs and have destroyed a locker everytime I have run it. I have the metal ones on order.

there is no thread on how to narrow axials. I ended up spending enough to buy a losi mini. Because there are no short axle shafts for an axial.
