Knowing your rig is #1 When you get there, walk the courses. Try and look at the gates and think if there is a "different" way to do it that the course designer might have overlooked. Think of it as your backyard and you are just trying to get through the damn cones. I love the thrill of competition. Your truck is looking good, hope you have some drive time on it |

another pointer that the local guys were nice enough to tell me... better to take the reverse than hit a gate or roll. since you dont have a dig that might be very important. also, as long as you dont move forward, its still the same reverse and only one point

Take the reverse always only 1 point no big loss. If you break take the fix it penalty dont try to limp the truck threw i made that mistake my first comp. Most of all have fun im sure the guys that are there will be more than willing to help you with anything you will need. Bring chips and drinks to get on the good side of everyone lol. |

Your rig is good to go. To me the most enjoyable thing about crawling is it's pretty laid back compaired to racing RC's. Just do your best and do it for fun have some laughs.

Don't get pissed when you realize that you should have done something different while driving. I was all stoked my first time and it went to crap real fast. Some stupid mistakes and it is all wrong, lol. Well hell, that sounds like my last weekends comp- i sucked ass. |

One thing I would like to add is watch the guys you know are good and pay attention to how they work the course. I have been lucky to compete with a Austin and Joey and I learned a ton from them. And don't be afraid to ask questions! That's how you learn. And as mentioned on here know your rig period !!! You have to know how it will act and react to a lot of situations.
