| How to make a rig more stable on STEEP climbs
Hey guys, I've finished my build and am having a bit of a problem, On Steep climbs my rig wants to tip backwards easily. I'm running a DNA slingshot w/Dig Tekin FXR motor and ESC HPI Rock Grabbers, Belly height is at 3" from the extra height of the tires. Was at 2 5/8 with my Claws. Didnt really seem to do any better with the other tires though. Any thoughts?? |

Got any pics of your rig? What shocks are you running? Any weight in the rims? Where is your batt mounted, etc. How steep of a climb are we talking here? if it's really, REALLY steep, (like 70 deg. or more) then you might consider getting a dig unit and just trying to use the front dig to pull you up. That will stop the whole "stand straight up then go over backwards" thing right there. |

Are you running any weights in your front tires? A few more details like battery placement would be helpful.

Ok, I'm running Losi .6 shocks, Stiff Green springs in the rear, 50wt shock oil, Orange soft springs up front 50wt oil. Front axle mount battery tray, 2 cell 2200mah Lipo MSD Aluminum wheels with 1 full wrap of tape weights plus about 4 extra ounces on each front wheel, thin wrap of tape weights on the rears. I'll try to get some pics up later tonight. |

Does it cant to the right or left as it tries to climb or just flip over straight backwards? I have been fighting the same thing since I put on the HB rovers. My belly height jumped to 3.25 Two things should help. Lower the overall height, and put stiffer foam in the rear tires. The foam makes a big difference. |
