Exclamation Losi 1/10 Crawler, 1st complaint

I know, its not out yet (ok, that is the 1st complain). But, I was just reading a review of it and saw that it has standard hardware and not metric. Grrrr.... Oh well, a reason to buy more tools...

(3rd complaint --> There is no forum set up for it *cough*)

There will not be a subforum made for it untill it's released... and has been the same for ALL crawlers.

Standard hardware... boo-hoo.

Welcome to America! I'm patriotic and proud to use standard instead of that Euro gargage metric stuff.

By the way that is a joke so no offense to our overseas members.

I hear you guys, but metric is soooo much easier, no math involved, no weird sizes like 7/32, or 5/64. You just step up or down as needed.

A semi-related question, but what size screws are on the Losi crawler? I was planning on getting the Integy set of drivers (0.05", 1/16, 3/32, 6/64 for standard sizes) but wanted to make sure it covers all the size screws on the Losi.

My vote is for metric. Mostly because it's easier to get replacement screws from the lhs. Standard hardware is in every hardware store, but only with Robertson or Phillip's drive. I much prefer the hex drive which means having to go to a specialty fastener store since the hardware and lhs don't carry them! Of course, I'll probably get a replacement screw kit once they come out !

That should work out fine. I took it apart and used the 3/32 and 1/16 on most of the serious parts we wrench on.

I can't believe(or should I ) that this thread was even started!! Let's see Losi (a USA based company) uses Standard-thread hardware (4-40/.050) AS ALL thier cars have had. Associated,(again a US comp) uses Standard hardware as well. Think about it guys
My next question, why do all NON-US made cars us metric:-? I don't understand Come on guys:-P

I started out on Traxxas RCs, a US company, all metric. These things are made in China anyways (or other places in the Far East), they just get built to what ever specs the company wants.

From Losi, quite honestly, expecting more would dissapoint. Haven't been happy with Losi stuff in years.

And as for AE, their 1/8 scale's such as the RC8, RC8T and the SC8 are metric. As is the TC5. Smart move to go metric in my mind.

I too am Canadian. But I still prefer doing most measurements in feet and inches. But with the smaller sizes, it's really hard to beat metric.
