| hydro steer
I have been thinking about this for a while now. how can I make a hydro steer setup. I was thinking taking a shock and putting preassure fittings on eather side and filling the holes on the valve in the shocks and connecting it to another shock via gas lines. a servo will move one shock mounted to the chassis. I was also thinking that some company (maybe Tamiya) made rc tractors which I think had hydrolic cylinders on it. could any of that work and would it be worth it? |

rerock, I'll have to upload some pics and stuff later tonight. I deleted a ton of stuff off the server, some of it by accident. Snakeman, that video is of a hydro alright...a Miss LLumar Hydroplane. rockcrawler 101, Yeah, I know what you mean. My 36" Iroks were $879 mounted, balanced, and shipped to my door. A little pile of aluminum or a big ol' set of tires...basically the same price. BUT...this is a true scale hydraulic steering system. It's a one of a kind. ;) |

I forgot...there's actually a page on my website.. http://www.projecttwin.com/Scorpion_...awler_5081.cfm Just uploaded a few images to my server as well... The wiring/plumbing diagram I made...I ditched the skysport and used an Airtronics VG6000. Steering cylinders Frame in progress ESC placement The pump... Pump installed and lines ran.. More plumbing... ...more plumbing... Beadlock rings I made...(Maximizer makes some just like this now, but for eight screws instead of 16) Back of the truck... Motor, pump, filter...and lathe motor After a good bit of use. Last edited by JasonInAugusta; 09-28-2005 at 08:31 PM. |

Thanks guys. Chris, I literally get hours of runtime on this truck. With a 3300 pack and a reduction ratio of 150:1 the motor that drives the truck draws very little current. It's slow, but I wanted it to move slow. The hydraulics pull very little current as well, but they're powered by a seperate lithium-polymer pack. |
