Can you take some pics and post them up if they look different?

I'd like to know about the "new" knuckles too? Are they they same grey plastic ones? or a different design or material? My passanger knuckle is showing major signs of stress and will need replacing soon. Thanks, Ben |

The only change to the knuckles are the black plastic hex pieces on the stub axles. The center hubs on the wheels have been changed also. There is now an extra plastic piece that goes through the hub and keys into the hex on the axle. Here are some pict's. The first 2 are of the old parts. The last 2 are the new parts. |

Thanks. I'm going to order some new wheels and tires and knuckles. Been wanting to have a spare mounted anyways. Is it pretty easy to remove the old knuckles? How do those pins come out? Do they just pop straight up and out? Thanks, - Ben |

The pins actually stay in the housing halves- so when you take the axle apart you can just pull up on the knuckles and they will come off the other pin. I don't know about the pin that connects the steering tho- I didn't take it apart that much yet! Mine is getting a spare too! Last edited by SevenX; 09-20-2005 at 12:46 PM. |

Of the two I've seen in person, both had the newer style spindle. It's funny how some folks can't keep the steering link pin in, and others can't get their's out. I couldn't remove mine when I had it apart cleaning out a bunch of dust and grit. I just left the knuckle attached there and blew out the dust with the air gun and silicone to clean the bearings (I now have spray lithium). Keith |
