i was just driving my crawler and i noticed that it is loosing power. i don't know why but i think it could be the dig. the first time i ran the dig i could drive for a long time and now it only last half of that time. do i need a BEC?

Did this occur right after you put the dig unit on? (you mentioned you drove it once?) If so my only guess is there is extra drag and weight in the driveline due to the dig. The extra servo may kill some power also, might want to check and make sure everything is in adjustment as to not put stress on the servo, dig, etc. As for batteries, try cycling (charge, discharge, repeat) them at a low amp rate to bring the cells back to shape as well as get them balanced. If you are running a brushed motor, check the commutator, it may need cleaning, check the brushes, they may need replacing. Also check and see if there is binding anywhere throught the drive train, check and lube your bushings/bearings. Check your tires, is their 10 pounds of mud in each one? All those effect the efficiency of the vehicle. |
