Default Super track width?

I'm trying to nail down a proper track width for my super. It seems that a good portion of the ones I see around here look fairly narrow. Is that by design or just an effect of axle choice?

I made my axles so that they could be cut down to whatever I want, so thats not a big deal...unless I have to build another set to go wider...lol.

Opinions? TW on your rig?

Thanks in advance!

Clod based Hustler with Axial narrow Rocksters, Moabs and aluminum knuckles sits dead nuts at 14"

I prefer a narrow track width...I can hit tighter lines but still retain solid off camber performance, which in my humble opinion, a drooped Hustler was made for

I was just about to post a similar thread (good thing for the search feature)...

Im running right at 14" on my new one. My old super was at 17" and was a pain with 22" gates.

I love my super at 13" wide, makes it easy to get through gates and seems to be very stable still.

I was just looking into this since my Summit seemed a little wide. I guess the stock 17.5 inches width is a little too wide. LOL

I'm running right at 14 1/2". Think I may go 13.

I keep getting my rear axle hung up on crap, maybe this will help a tad by pulling the wheels in closer?

My super is currently 16" tire - tire. Count the fact that ther current tires on there are 6" wide (IIRC), I would say that hub>hub I'm at 12-14.

Outside to outside, or total width.

Plenty of room. This is with Maxx size badlands, uncut.

I've run Moab XL's and my hybrid 40 series Badlands as well. They clear fine. Close yes,but there's enough room.

Wow thats a huge steering angle you got going on there!

What width wheels are you running with those Badlands? I've got some on a set of Maximizer beadlocks and they pooch out on the sides.

The beauty of universal shafts. A bit of wheelspeed and she'll turn a 180 within it's wheelbase.

The wheels are just a set of Kyosho buggy/Maxx size wheels. Pretty deep offset, most of the knuckle is inside the wheel. My 40 series wheels have a touch less backspace,so my track width gains about a 1/4" per side when running my big tires.

I run my super at 14 inches measuring from outside tire to outside tire. I would like to try narrower, but my super is very stable set up at 14 inches track width and 17.5 wheel base. That is another question you should consider is the wheel base of the super.

Twin Force....anything else is sub standard.

Why can't you build new lower link mounts? My moto has always been...if it's in the way, move it or cut it off.

I've run anything from 18" to 14" for a wheel base. 13" and skinnier is best.
