Default New Losi (mrc) bodied tuber

I like the body of the Losi mrc & figured it would be fun to try to build a tuber based on that body.

Started by making a casting of the body.

Then carved out where the "tubes" are molded into the body.

Cut, bent & welded 1/8" rod to the grooves.

This is as far as I have gotten in the past couple days, I will be snowed in for a couple days & as long as the power stays on I will be able to get more done tomorrow.

Nice idea. It will definitely look better than the stock MRC body.

Jim,
I may need to swing by and check that thing out! I guess we'll see how much this storm brings. Very nice looking.

I like the idea too, but why even run the body over it then ? why not make panels that go inside it ? or make it a more capable rig ? I'd also make the skid out of Delrin, that alu is gonna drag like a crazy.

Unless its not a comp rig, If its just for fun, the its pretty cool.

It is going to be a replacement chassis for my comp rig & I will either make a different skid out of delrin or teflon coat the bottom of this one.

Here is the chassis that it is going to replace:

Why would it not be capable?

Great looking tuber, really makes that stock body shape look good. Can't wait for more.
