Default what battery ???

First, please forgive me, i do not know much about ma, run time or power.

I recently purchase the 1500ma 2/3 cell 6-pack for my wk. Notice that it doesnt like to run very long at this last comp i went to. Need to figure out another setup with out going to lipo. Here are my choices. What are the pros / cons for the following batteries?

Spec. on WK:
Novak Rooster ESC
Integy 55 t
Futaba P2 TX/RX
JR. ST126MG stering servo

Which Battery Setup Would Be Best???
*7 or 8 cell pack
*Elite 2000 4/5A or 3300 SC or 4000 SC or 5000 SC batter?
*What does the 2/3A , 4/5A , X000 SC mean???

I read in the rooster manual and it says not to do more than a 7 cell pack, so i was leaning that way, but would a 8-pack 1500 2/3A pack be ok too or should i go with the larger battery and usea 7-pack?

Well those elite batteries you have should last a good 30min or so...you might have some bad batteries in there.
I don't know if you really want to run a flat pack tho, but the rooster can only handle 7 cells. 2/3a and 4/5a is the size of the batter. 2/3a being smaller. sc is a sub C battery. and the number 3300 or 4000 is the mah rating of the cells. This is the amount of run time given, so the higher the number the longer the run time, but they also weigh more. I don't know why those 1500 cells aren't running right... prefect size for a crawler.

well, i charge them up, and run the corse, but then my stepson runs and it seems like they are at the end of their life halfway through the corse for him??? A 7cell 1500 2/3a last long than the 6pack right?

No. The cells are in a series, it's the voltage that gets added on. The amperage is what matters for runtime, that's the 1500mah bit. If anything, more cells will lead to slightly lower runtimes, for reasons I've read about but can't remember right now.

IF your run-time is that short, verify that the spur/pinion are not too tight. Also verify that the drive-train is not binding. Are you having thermal issues? Running hot? I run 2 Sidewinder ESCs with 2 Novak 55t motors, and a LARGE Hitec 5955 Steering servo, and I get 35-40 minutes out of my 1500mah pack. Also verify that you are charging correctly/fully.

ok, will check the pinon/spur conection. Nothing runs hot either. It might be something binding, because when im just playing around in my back yard with the "smaller" rocks, it will last about 30 or so mins. Thanks for the input. I guess its time to go through every thing and fix what needs to be fixed.
