Default Crawling Up Steps - Rear gets stuck

Hi all,

While not really a true Crawler, I have a traxxas Summit. I want to climb up my stairs perpendicular rather than more of an angle.

What happens now is that the front wheels clear step #1 and as it gets to #2 and the rear wheel tries to get over #1 they get wedged under the step. I can't seem to prevent this. And then when I burst the throttle it stand on its tail and flips backwards.

Any suggestions?

Thank you

Add weight to the front, a lot of weight... also, that exo is heavy and is helping it to tip.

X2 for all of the above.

My crawler does the same thing (except flipping over), even on steps without a lip. A longer wheelbase or attacking them at an angle are my only choices.

You need a lot of break over angle and a longer wheelbase to get up steps. Even some of the better super class crawlers cannot take steps head on. The Summit, would probably have an even tougher time taming stair perpendicular. Or you could just find some shorter steps too. Contary to the Traxxas ad on the back of the RCCA crawler issue, I don't believe the Summit could ever climb stairs perpendicular. I remember all the flack I got for saying that on the TRX forums, from the guys who were looking forward to this truck.
