| a cheap fix - steering......
so, i dont know if any of you who havent upgraded to a real servo have as much trouble as i do getting your nylint to turn. since i added larger tires and stuff its like i have to do a 4 point turn to get around anything. especially with a longer w/b so the other night while i had it apart i examined the steering parts and made sure i tightened everything down. but before i did that i took each steering knuckle off and soaked the top and bottom with oil/grease. then i reassembled it and took it for a test run. since i lubed up the knuckles it turns way tighter and quicker now, i love it. it has made a huge difference...... so if your steering feels slugish or doesnt turn quite like you would like it to try greaseing up the knuckles a little.... |

I would suggest something that is dry, like Dupont's Teflon spray. Oil or grease will "catch" dust and dirt. That oil, dust, and dirt will become lapping compound. Last edited by JasonInAugusta; 09-28-2005 at 11:22 AM. |

yea, i figured it would do that - i just used some liquid crisco i had from the kitchen, i was too lazy to go out and get the grease gun from the garage. but all ill need to do is drop a few drop on each side on the top of the knuckle every few runs, liquid crisco is cheap. glad it worked for you all |
