Default Wood & Foam QUestions

Okay everyone, a few new questions on course building. Keep in mind that this will be a portable, multi-piece indoor course for mini-crawlers. First, has anyone tried making a course out of wood and logs, sawn and cut into different shapes and sizes, then nailed or glued together and painted with truck bed or granite spray paint? If so, did it work and do you have pics? Secondly, I have tried to read all the post on using the Great Stuff spray foam and then coating it but my question is would it be okay to skip the burlap and mortor/grout step and just spray it with truck bed coating only if using it with mini-crawlers or will it not hold up to that?
