Datsun Big Bear

Hopefully I win the bid on this Datsun Big Bear Rc Truck. Its missing an esc, transmitter and servo. If I cant build it into a crawler im going to build it into a scale trail basher.

You do know its only 2wd ? The quality isn't as good as a Tamiya Blackfoot. I would keep the body/interior for a scale project.

The Big Bear is a great step up from a Radio Shack toy. You should not go with a stronger motor, run it stock.

Compared to a Stampede, this are made out of glass.

But they are fun to watch bounce around.

lol
the Mauri big bear was my 1st hobby grade RC, LONG AGO!!
the thing is a POS, the plastic is worse then glass, the chassis cracks, the friction shocks are horrible, etc...

but yea....watch it bounce around and break before you.
the body will break at the cab/box as its a weak point, so reinforce it at that area before driving it"thumbsup"

Ive still got mine in a box from when I was a kid. The tires are now cracked and flat, a part of the chassis was glued with wood glue (hey, I was a kid!), and there's a crack in the wind sheild. I still haven't decided if I'm ever going to use the body for a scaler or not.

Lost the bid. I was just going to fix it up and add it to my collection. Kinda bummed out... Oh well.

Here is my Big Bear body, I just set it on my ax10 to take pictures. I am getting ready to make scale crawler with a scx10 kit. I still have the original Big Bear tires, chassis, and etc. I might be making a scale crawler out of the Big Bear chassis with extra part, don't know yet.

Just thought I would get more pics of the Big Bear body on the net, incase someone wanted to see some.

*Enjoy

good luck useing that with an scx10 chassis. the body is way to small for the chassis. shit the wheelbase is only around 9" and 1.9's are too big to look right on it imho.
