Default cobalt 7t Question

Can you run a 7t pulled thru an r2 and still get the crawler speed and the quick wheel speed or is it geared to low??

Please help.

Runs really nice on an R2 or an Axial.

You can pretty much gear that motor however you wish and it will still have all the wheelspeed and torque that you'd ever need!

I would guess that mine (bolted to the AX10 tranny) hit somewhere around 10-12mph.

I think most like an 11t or 12t pinion, or something like that, maybe 10t, when running the Cobalt with an R2 transmission, but like someone said you can run just about whatever you want to get the speed you want as long as you keep any eye on motor temps. I ran a 19t on the stock AX10 transmission for a bit, and the motor would get hot, but it wasn't bad enough to hurt it much. That got to be a little too fast for my liking as far as a crawler goes.

Bingo!

The only reason I messed with the gearing on my motor was to reduce temps. Remember, this motor should be kept at or below 160*F.

I ran a 14, 18, and 21 with my stock Axial trans and like the 18 the best. It would start getting warm with the 21. With the 18 and a 2 cell lipo it has more then enough wheel speed. My rig is also a heavy pig.
