| Coupling motors/Transfers or trannies
Does anyone else use aluminum couplers with flex cable between to hook motor or tranny to transfer?

Most use Driveshafts. Be they Axial, Stampede, or others.

If you mean flex cable like the ones used in rc boat drivelines then it could be used but only in places where you do not stretch the driveline. Perhaps between a transfer case and a transmission where the length of the driveline remains constant. In the case of axle to tranny driveline it will be pretty much useless since flex cables cannot stretch and return, something that is mandatory when the suspension flexes.

Yes, I mean between transfer and tranny where you could use a cable and be able to flex if needed. Just wondered as I made some and wondered if they can be uised in this sport.

Yes, at this place they certainly can as long as you do not overstress them with excessive torque coupled with binding!!! Also you will have to find the appropriate couplers to match cable size and tranny output diameter.

| I don't think so, I have used various cables in uber high speed boats with normal and reverse rotation (2 motor cats) and not a single one has ever unwrapped. Of course in boats these cables spin inside teflon tube housing in most of the cases but again if it was to unwrap, it would and then bind the whole driveline. The only problem I might think of is that if the cable is not thick enough, it might warp a bit under serious torque and binding.
