Default What are shock mounting options for this axle?

I am building a 1:6 gladiator using raptor 2 axles. I bought some yeah racing 5" shocks but having issues finding a place to mount them. I need your help in finding a good place to put them so i can get full travel out of them. The only place I can put them is on the upper axle C but the shocks won't have any compression left. The pictures show the shock mounted on upper axle C. Shocks are full compressed. I am trying to find a place to mount them behind the axle and down lower near the axle tube. I did try drilling into the axle tube (on the rear flat side) but the tube thickness isn't thick enough to hold a screw that's holding up the weight of the body/frame. I think it's a little over 1/16" thick. I will probably have to make some brackets of some sort but any idea how to do it? I need some suggestions to get me started.

Check out the pictures and let me know what you think I can do for mounts.

Thanks for helping!

Braze or weld some tlt link mounts to the lower links right at the axle and mount them there. It should give you another 2 inches almost.

I'm gonna have 3/8" alum tubing on the links. The rig is gonna be around 18 lbs too. Will the lower link and rod end support such weight? This is a bashing/trail rig, no crawling so it may see a bump here or two.

The rod ends are traxxas jato rod ends using 8-32 rod:
