Some really nice home made courses here. Im going for the natural look, maybe looks like a water feature so it doesnt look like a pile of trash in the yard. I get my rocks for free right on the border 20 min away, I call it the wasteland. Looks like something from a movie, trash, rocks, concrete, boats, tires everywhere. I just take the rocks but I do have bricks and concrete chunks under the rocks to help make hills. Have a few huge rocks in the course. Will be making a wood bridge from dead branches from my pine tree. Hard to tell but I have a valley dug out where the bridge will go across. Also found some big driftwood I wil try to add in. Its alot of fun doing this in the backyard, not having to waste gas driving somewhere, plus I havent found a good spot yet anyways to drive the MRC. Even added these plants that grow everywhere here, they need no maintance. |

This is my current course, these pics were taking beginning of summer, it's all pretty much the same but most of the mulch was removed so the rally cars could drive on the track. Here's a link to a gallery with pics of a Comp we held back there, was a bit crowded with all the people. http://www.texasrcoffroad.com/txrco_...s.php?album=44 |

I really like the last 2 posts, im going to redo my course like the ones above. Using 2x4's and go long words instead of my mess I have. I will go along my shed and fence for a straight long course with a hill and 90 degree turn, maybe 25 inches wide.

Mine is two rectangle frames, the 2x4's keep the rocks in place esp on a concreat floor the rocks tend to settle and move around more. We had four rigs beatin and bangin this thing for three hours last night and it held togather fine. It was 15* F here last night, the heat is a must, satilite tv/radio and beer fridge are cool too. |

started this one recently and will continue it in about march. I will be grouting a cool mono wall on the plywood and expand it around the front of my son's pirate ship treefort with a water feature. All the rock on the ground is layed on a thick fabric and should help with grass. I plan on a boarder as well as filling in all the voids in the rocks that are on the ground, hopefully making for a monolithic style course. stay tuned for further upgrades when the weather gets better |

mines nothing special, just a side area where i park my trailer. It has 2 truck loads of rocks in it right now. I need to get a couple more loads of rocks from my parents property to make it complete. |

Just tore up my course, I think my original was at the top of this page. Re did it like a trail. Around 30 feet long total. Put up wood as a separator and walls to hold back rocks. Little over 2 feet wide. Nicer setup from before. Im still planning on adding a log bridge made from my pine tree going across the dirt area. So the next day we had a huge storm here, some advise dont build track under pine tree, its covered in needles Last edited by mikegigabyte; 12-09-2009 at 08:01 AM. |

This is where my son and I compete with each other. It's right in front of my house next to a bike path. It's small, but it keeps us occupied for a battery pack or two. |

| Tell her you want to build her own hot pink crawler so you can spend quality time with each other, get her addicted to crawling then you can build a course anywhere you want.

| my backyard
This is only half of the yard I loaded my truck with all this rock from the outlying areas in beautiful Idaho. To bad there's snow on the ground now. I'd say its wife friendly. The pond is 26ft wide I want to build a suspension bridge soon |
