Default ??? about the top links

Does it make difference if the top links is just as long as the bottom.Or does it matter

Big difference, my upper links are 55mm, and lowers are 95mm, if they were the same size the axel would be clocked to the point where the drive line couldn't function. It really depends on the crawler's suspension geometry.

1: they can be as long as you want as long as the steerin castor is correct, 2) you dont want the uppers longer then the lowers. 3) you will want the upper links frame mounting closer to the axle then the lowers if that makes sense.. like the lower links chould mount closer to the vertical center line then then uppers
